During
the early part of 2005, Dante’s partnered with Big Mario’s Sport
Concessions, a national marketing group, to launch their entry into the
frozen pizza market for sports and entertainment foodservice customers.
Already the “Official Pizza of Camden Yards,” the home of the Baltimore
Orioles, Big Mario’s Pizza is also being enjoyed by the fans of Cal
Ripken’s Ironbirds and the DelMarVa Shorebirds on Maryland’s Eastern
Shore.

Originating in New York as a pizza
entrepreneur, Mario Persico developed his own pizza sauce and dough
recipes which he guarded vigorously. Much to the dismay of his many
customers, Big Mario decided to relocate his family to Maryland’s
Eastern Shore in 1978, where he opened a chain of pizza shops. His
pizza was discovered all over again and a successful business
developed. The name Big Mario’s became synonymous with quality and
authentic Italian taste.

Now
being guided by his son John, Big Mario’s, through its trademarked
products, has expanded into the national foodservice market. By
combining the marketing programs of Big Mario’s with the custom product
formulation capabilities of Dante’s, Big Mario’s Famous Pizza has been
duplicated for the frozen foodservice market.

Dante’s has successfully duplicated a “one

test conducted by a major national foodservice company, during which
Big Mario’s was competing against four or five national pizza
companies, Big Mario’s was ranked NUMBER ONE! To quote the Chef in
charge of evaluating the entries, “This morning was an eye opening
experience when trying these new pizzas. Hands down, the best of these
choices was Big Mario’s.”
